ภาพยนตร์สั้นเรื่องนี้เป็นภาพยนตร์ปริญญานิพนธ์ระดับมหาบัญฑิตศึกษา สร้างตามสถานการณ์ท่ีจำเป็น ข้าพเจ้าได้ไปศึกษาด้านภาพยนตร์ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยซาวานน่า มลรัฐจอร์เจีย สหรัฐอเมริกา ในปี พ.ศ. 2540 ถึง ปี 2543 ด้วยเงินทุนท่ีจำกัด และช่วงนั้นเป็นช่วงค่าเงินบาทลอยตัว จึงหาวิธีสร้างภาพยนตร์ท่ีใช้ทุนตำ่ มีคิวถ่ายน้อย ถ่ายทำไม่ก่ีวัน เพื่อประหยัดค่าใช้จ่าย จึงเลือกเรื่องในแนวดราม่า แนวสะเทือนอารมณ์ ท่ีมีคัทน้อย ๆ สถานท่ีถ่ายทำง่าย ๆ ใช้ความสามารถของนักแสดงท่ีดีเป็นหลัก เพื่อให้ดึงดูดใจและจะเป็นการจับใจคณะกรรมการตรวจวิทยานิพนธ์ได้ เพื่อจะสำเร็จการศึกษาโดยเร็ว ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ไม่มีการเขียนบท ไม่มีการเขียนบทสนทนา มีแต่แนวเรื่องอยู่ในใจ แล้วบอกให้นักแสดงเล่นสด ไม่มีการจัดฉาก ถ่ายในสถานท่ีจริง ไม่มีการวางบทล่วงหน้า คิดฉากไหนขึ้นมาได้ ก็ถ่ายทำฉากนั้น แล้วนำมาคิดประกอบกันในห้องตัดต่อ ให้พอเป็นเรื่องราว ใช้เวลาถ่าย 3 วัน เรื่องท่ีเกิดก็เป็นเรื่องใกล้จริง ท่ีผู้แสดงเคยคิดและประสพ ถามว่าถ้าเกิดเช่นนั้นจริงเขาจะคิดอย่างไร เขาบอกว่าอยากฆ่าตัวตาย จึงเป็นท่ีมาของตอนจบของภาพยนตร์สั้นเรื่องนี้ ทั้งหมดนี้เป็นเรื่องของความจริง ความลวง ความคิด การต่อสู้และการพ่ายแพ้ต่ออำนาจฝ่ายตำ่ จิตใต้สำนึก ความรู้สึกผิดชอบชั่วดีของมนุษย์ แค่คิดก็ผิดแล้ว ความรักของพ่อท่ีมีต่อลูก การทำงานหนัก ค่านิยมและการยั่วยุ การติดสุรา ปัญหาการหย่าร้างและความว้าเหว่เปล่าเปลี่ยวของสังคมสมัยใหม่ ……. This short film was made quickly because it was necessary. It was my thesis project for a Masters of Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. When they floated the Baht after the economic crisis of 1997, the exchange rate dropped from 25 Baht per dollar to 50! This meant I had to spend twice as much of my money to get the same thing in America. I tried to make this movie with a low budget, short shooting days, and to further reduce the cost I selected an emotional story that required very little cutting. I used easily accessed locations and the ability of the actors to impact the panel of judgement so that I could graduate before I ran out of money entirely. This movie was shot with out a formal script and with only the plot in mind. The actor and actresses used the setting of a real location, my apartment. They improvised along the plot lines, and when something good popped up, we put it together in the editing room. There were only three shooting days. The idea was close to what the main actor faced and thought in his life. When I asked him, "If this situation really happened to you, what would you do?" He replied, "I would kill myself." And this is what we used to end the story. The theme of my short film is about the reality of his delusion: his paranoia and the guilt of the human soul -- even though he didn't commit the act, he thought he did -- the relationship between a father and a daughter -- the seduction of alcohol addiction -- the loneliness of divorce. |
