Print your subtitles as single lines. It may be as long as a short sentence or half. It's a good idea to break at punctuation (like a comma) if possible. It's okay to have two lines of text on the screen, but not three. Keep your text as close to written language as possible. Don't embellish or try to hint at what the speaker means. Just translate in plain written English.
Do not use dashes, elipses or any other superfluous punctuation.
Do not use quotes or italics unless absolutely necessary.
Slide the text left or right on your timeline until the meaning matches with what is being said.
Here are the subtitle for Muay Thai:
Will Muay Thai fade away?
I don't think so.
Thais really love boxing,
it's the number one sport they enjoy.
Muay Thai is Thailand's national sport,
it is a combination of science and art.
It is delicate and fierce at the same time.
Muay Thai is very strong.
It may not look so tough from the outside,
but it really is tough on the inside.
It's Thailand's unique sport.
Muay Thai can be used for protection.
In a one-on-one fight, if a person doesn't know Muay Thai,
they will surely lose to a Muay Thai fighter
because they know how to protect themselves,
or where to kick in order to make the opponent stumble, freeze, and fall.
The advantage of a Muay Thai boxer is that they know the weak spots in their opponent's body.
There is experience required when boxing in a boxing match.
How can I explain this?
The tempo is very important when boxing against an opponent.
You need to analyze both your opponent and yourself.
It's not just randomly throwing punches,
you need to think and analyze your opponent carefully.
I've been boxing for seven years.
I have participated in about 60 matches.
Injuries happen occasionally.
There are times when I feel hopeless,
like when I lose matches.
But no matter how much it hurts,
in the end I win and my hand is the one lifted by the referee.
In front of a crowd it's always worth it.
There are skills needed in order to become a Muay Thai boxer.
Your talent is the most important,
combined with diligence.
Muay Thai boxers have to wake up early in the morning and run.
It doesn't matter whether you're a child or a grown up,
everyone has to run at least 15 to 20 kilometers a day.
The bigger you are the more you run.
Then you come back and practice punching by yourself
and also with opponents.
If a match is coming up soon, let's say in 15 days,
you have to practice a lot and it is very tiring.
Muay Thai is very tiring and painful.
But for us it's our job.
We don't get to go anywhere,
we practice, we eat, we stay at the gym all day and all night.
If there's any leftover time, then we can go to school.
After school, we come back and practice
in order to become stronger and beat our opponent.
I want everyone to learn Muay Thai.
It's our nation's national sport and we shouldn't let it fade away.
this is our latest draft of pregnancy life
